It is not legally required to have a tank test performed in the state of Maryland if you are selling a home. However, it is increasingly the case that lenders are requiring that USTs be tested, tying mortgage financing to the tests. Plus it’s just common sense that if you are purchasing a home, you want to know exactly what it is you are buying.
How long have they been in business? Are they fully licensed and certified? Do they offer references, upon request? How quickly can they get you accurate test results? In order to determine if your tanks should be removed or professionally abandoned, you must consider where it is and what is involved in removing it.
